Ihana ystäväni Sarah Kinani tekee häihin ja muihin juhlatilaisuuksiin yksilöllisiä ja kauniita koruja makeanvedenhelmista, erilaisista korukivistä ja aidoista kukista sekä kalvosinnappeja. Olinkin todella innoissani, kun hän viime heinäkuussa pyysi mua malliksi, jotta voisi kuvata uusia korujaan. Nyt talvi tuntuu loputtoman pitkältä, ja näistä kuvista tulee unenomainen fiilis: oliko kesä totta ja tuleeko se varmasti taas?

Näissä kuvauksissa pääsin myös kokeilemaan kakkosmekkoani, turhaketta, johon sorruin. Oli kuitenkin kiva huomata, että hääpuvun voi löytää myös tosi edullisesti: tämä maksoi alle 70 euroa Zalandolla!
Puvun ympäristövaikutusten selvittäminen taas tuntuu lähes mahdottomalta. Yleisesti nettishoppailussa ongelmallista on palautusten määrä. Joidenkin lähteiden mukaan esimerkiksi Zalandolle palautetaan jopa puolet ostoksista, mikä ei ole kestävää eettisesti, ekologisesti eikä taloudellisestikaan.
Tekstiiliteollisuuden eettisyyttä voi olla välillä vaikea selvittää, sillä esimerkiksi yrityksen kotimaisuus tai kallis hintakaan eivät aina takaa tuotteen eettisyyttä. Kirjoitan hääpukeutumisesta enemmän omassa postauksessaan hieman myöhemmin, mutta jos tekstiiliteollisuuden ympäristövaikutukset alkoivat jo kiinnostaa, niin lukaise vaikka helsinkiläisen Radhica-vintagekaupan blogista lisää. 🙂
Meillä oli tosi ihana heinäkuinen ilta Sarah’n kanssa. Sarah laittoi mun hiukset ja löysi söpöjä kuvauspaikkoja. Oli myös kiva testata pukua ja todeta, että se on ihanan rento ja täydellinen kakkosmekokseni. Toivon, että osaisin käyttää sitä häiden jälkeenkin jossakin muussa yhteydessä. Ehkä siitä saisi asusteilla muihinkin tilaisuuksiin sopivan?
Näiden korujen myötä aloin miettiä yleisesti helmien eettisyyttä ja ekologisuutta. Vegaaneille aidot helmet eivät sovi, mutta vaihtoehtoisesti tarjolla on tekohelmiä. Niiden raaka-aineena käytetään lasia tai muovia, joista jälkimmäinen ei taas ole ympäristötietoisen valinta.
Makeanvedenhelmet, joita Sarah esimerkiksi käyttää, ovat viljeltyjä, ja suurin osa myynnissä olevista aidoista helmistä onkin näitä. Lisäksi on merivedenhelmiä, puristettuja helmiä sekä harvinaisia ja arvokaita luonnonhelmiä. Jos joku osaa kertoa enemmän helmien ympäristövaikutuksista, kuulen mielelläni. 🙂
