Kukapa olisi uskonut, että erään isoimmista väännöistä saamme aikaiseksi hääbändistä? Olemme olleet asian suhteen aikaansaamattomia, koska emme ole olleet yhdestäkään kuuntelemastamme yhtyeestä samaa mieltä ja siksi päätös onkin koko ajan jätetty lähihistoriaan ”muhimaan”. Typerää toki, koska tämähän tarkoitti sitä, että kun vihdoin havahduimme siihen, että yhtye pitää valita, oli monilla jo hääpäivämme buukattuna.
Onneksi löysimme kuitenkin timantin, joka oli mennyt meiltä aikaisemmin ohi – ja vastoin kaikkia todennäköisyyksiä, yhtyeellä oli sattumalta juuri meidän hääpäivämme vapaana! Joku voisi sanoa, että asia oli meant to be – ja itse saattaisin tuota henkilöä kompata!
”Nämähän tietävät, mitä tekevät”
Bilebändi HighLights teki meikäläiseen vaikutuksen välittömästi hyvällä meiningillään ja selkeällä esiintymisellään – ja sillä, mistä kaiken tämän sain tietää: selkeiltä ja informatiivisiltä nettisivuilta, joilta pääsi kurkkimaan yhtyeen aikaisempia esiintymisiä videomuodossa.
Seuraava jännityksen aihe oli se, olisimmeko tästäkään yhtyeestä samaa mieltä kumppanini kanssa. Ja suureksi ilokseni sainkin henkäistä helpotuksesta, kun Myanmarissa parhaillaan töissä oleva tuleva mieheni viestitti jo muutaman minuutin kuuntelun jälkeen yksinkertaisen ytimekkäästi: ”Nämähän tietävät mitä tekevät!” Se oli sitten siinä, emmekä epäröineet hetkeäkään!
Yhtyeessä on peräti seitsemän henkeä ja lisäksi mukana menossa on yhtyeen oma ääni- ja valomies. Bilebändi HighLightsin Kata Lampinen kertoo, että yhtye perustettiin ajatuksella ”Työntekoa tosissaan huumoria unohtamatta, kovilla tavoitteilla ja hyvällä porukalla”.
– Soitto- ja laulutaidon lisäksi meille on tärkeää viihtyä toistemme seurassa ja se, että kaikki voivat olla sellaisia kuin ovat. Bändimme jäsenet ovat löytyneet Muusikoiden.net -sivuston kautta ja valikoituneet tottakai soittotaidon, mutta myös henkilökemioiden vuoksi. Kun bändillä on keskenään vapautunutta ja aidosti hauskaa, tunnelma tarttuu myös yleisöön. Meillä on käynyt älytön mäihä, kun olemme löytäneet toisemme – näin hyvä ja ammattitaitoinen porukka ei ole itsestäänselvyys, Lampinen sanoo.
Musiikillisesti yhtyeestä löytyy niin säveltäjiä, multi-instrumentalisteja, ammatti-, studio- ja hevimuusikoita kuin tekniikan ihmelapsiakin. Ammatillisesti kokoonpano koostuu diplomi-insinööristä, yrittäjästä, rakennusmestarista ja eri alojen opiskelijoista.
– Näistäkin taidoista on hyötyä bändihommissa, Lampinen selittää.
”On kunnia olla osa suurta päivää”
Ratkaiseva tekijä yhtyeen valinnassa hääbändiksi oli juurikin videoilta ilmi käyvä meininki sekä vahva osaaminen – tämä yhtye selvästi pitää kunnia-asiana vetää keikat ammattimaisesti ja hyvin. Lisäksi potpureissa oli mukana hittejä Haloo Helsingistä aina Antti Tuiskuun ja Apulannasta Rihannaan.
Yhtyeellä on runsaasti kokemusta hääesiintymisistä ja Lampinen sanookin, että häissä soittaminen on ”hienoa, jännittävää, palkitsevaa ja ainutlaatuista”.
– Häät ovat pariskunnalle ikimuistoinen päivä, joten odotukset ovat todella kovat. Hääparin toivebiisit jännittävät bändiä aina eniten ja näistä erityisesti häätanssi, sillä se on hääparin hetki, josta halutaan tehdä täydellinen. Valmistaudummekin hääkeikkoihin aina hyvissä ajoin ja keräännymme porukalla treenaamaan toivebiisit kuntoon. Oman haasteensa hääkeikkoihin tuo se, että yleisö ei koostu pelkistä bilehileistä, vaan kaikki ikäpolvet on saatava viihtymään, Lampinen selittää.
Kysyin Lampiselta myös hauskimpia keikkamuistoja, ja ne saivat minut odottamaan heidän esiintymistään vielä enemmän:
– Parhaiten keikoilta muistuvat mieleen kaikenlaiset iloiset kommellukset ja mokailut niin lavalla kuin takahuoneessakin. Milloin joku on tipahtanut pyllylleen yleisön sekaan tai yllättänyt bänditoverit nousemalla salaluukusta lavan alta. Joskus rumpali on heittänyt kuperkeikan hetken mielijohteesta kesken biisin.
Palkitsevin tunne on Lampisen mukaan yleisön intoutuminen.
– Parasta ja siisteintä on kuitenkin se, kun yleisö laulaa niin lujaa mukana, ettei meinaa kuulla itseään korvamonitoreista. Näissä tilanteissa on erittäin kiitollinen tästä bändistä ja näistä ihmisistä. Tätä vartenhan me paikalla olemme!
Hänen mukaansa häiden tunnelma on erityinen verrattuna muihin keikkoihin.
– Jännittyneisyys huokuu hääpaikalla aamu- tai päiväroudauksessa lopulta laueten bilesettien startatessa. On kunnia saada olla osa hääparin tärkeää päivää ja nähdä juhlakansa iloisella mielellä. Onnellisuus on käsin kosketeltavissa, Lampinen summaa.
Yhtyeelle saa myös esittää kaksi toivetta, jotka yhtye mahdollisuuksien mukaan opettelee häihimme. Näitä biisejä jäämme vielä miettimään, sillä heti ei tullut mitään selkeää toivetta mieleen (tajusimme myös, että meillä ei varsinaisesti ole ”meidän biisiä”, kääk!)
Ps. Noista nettisivuista vielä sen verran, että moni suositteli minulle erästä tiettyä Varsinais-Suomen alueella vaikuttavaa bändiä. Minkäänlaista selkeää videota keikoilta ei kuitenkaan ollut missään nähtävissä, kappaleita ei löytynyt neljää enempää sen paremmin YouTubesta kuin Facebookistakaan – eikä miltään muultakaan sivulta. Itselleni jäi yhtyeestä epämääräisen huono kuva, koska minkäänlaista näyttöä taidoista ei ollut löydettävissä. Koska kyseessä on merkityksellinen juhla, en suostunut ostamaan sikaa säkissä. Pienenä vinkkinä siis keikkaileville yhtyeille: hoitakaa ne nettisivut, tai edes Facebook-sivut kuntoon, niin ette menetä potentiaalisia asiakkaita! Onneksi myös tämä aspekti oli siis Bilebändi HighLightseilla hallussa 🙂
