Samulille oli alusta alkaen selvää, että hän haluaisi astella alttarille vuokratussa asussa.
Jotkut sulhaset hankkivat häitään varten puvun, josta on heille iloa pitkäksi aikaa. Samuli ei kuitenkaan juuri koskaan käytä pukua, ja hän on vuosien varrella muokannut vartaloaan kuntosalilla niin paljon, että on oppinut ajattelemaan, ettei ostohetkellä istuva puku kuitenkaan olisi enää hyvännäköinen, kun hän on seuraavan kerran sitä haluaisi käyttää.
Asun vuokraamista puoltaa sekin, että Samulin on glamour-teemaamme sopivasti tarkoitus pukeutua häihimme näyttävästi, eikä hänellä ole enää tulevaisuudessa käyttöä niin hienolle asulle. Juhla-asun vuokraaminen on myös edullisempi ja ekologisempi tapa hankkia suureen juhlaan jotain ihan erityistä.
Samoilla perusteilla – kehonrakennusta lukuunottamatta – minunkin olisi toki kannattanut vuokrata hääpukuni, mutta en ollut valmis suhtautumaan asiaan yhtä järkevästi kuin Samuli, ja halusin päästä valitsemaan mekkoni isommasta valikoimasta kuin arvelin vuokraamoissa olevan tarjolla. Samuli sen sijaan löysi Gasell GP -pukuvuokraamosta helposti mieleisensä asun.
Valitsimme Gasell GP:n alun perin Mennään naimisiin -häämessujen messuständin perusteella, ja kaupallinen yhteistyö tuli kuvioihin mukaan vasta myöhemmin. Samuli meni sovittelemaan asuaan ilman minua, sillä siinä vaiheessa ajattelimme vielä pitää asumme toisiltamme salassa hääpäivään saakka. Koska Samuli ei osannut kertoa sovitustapaamisessa mitään minun puvustani, Gasell GP:n pukeutumisneuvoja soitti tapaamisen aikana minulle ja selvitti suoraan minulta kaiken tarvittavan varmistaakseen, että asumme sopisivat yhteen.
